1. Ideas & Dreams
During your introductory meeting, you'll sit down with the owner of Mountain View Builders to discuss the components of your custom home: living area size, budget, number of bedrooms, bathrooms, and more.
Bring your scrapbook, ideas, and dreams to this first meeting. Showcase pictures of home exteriors and styles that resonate with you. Do you prefer a conventional stick-built home, or are you drawn to a modern post-frame structure? Whether you're dreaming of a craftsman home, a minimalist modern design, or something entirely unique, we'll help you make it happen.
- Conventional or Post-Frame Structure
Choose between traditional stick-built homes or modern post-frame structures. - Turn-Key or DIY
Select a full turn-key package or lockable shells for DIY savings. - Value Engineering or Luxury Features
Focus on value engineering for affordability or opt for luxury features.
2. Design Phase
Mountain View Builders will recommend a design firm, or you can choose your own. This firm will translate your ideas into preliminary design drawings.

Create preliminary design drawings reflecting your vision and structural needs. - Design Meeting
Meet with the design firm to review and refine your preliminary drawings. After approval, they'll create the full set of home construction drawings.
3. Selections
Once your design drawings are complete, meet with Mountain View Builders to discuss construction selections and finish choices. Our preferred vendors will help you find the perfect plumbing, lighting, cabinet, and hard surface finishes for your new home.

Select all materials and components for your home's construction and finishes. - Approval Meeting
Finalize your construction budget, review the final construction drawings, and sign the contracts.
4. Construction
Once permits are secured, construction begins. Mountain View Builders' owner is onsite to ensure quality, manage costs, and oversee scheduling and safety.

Our team manages cost, scheduling, quality, and safety throughout the build. - Construction Walk-Through
Walk through your framed home to confirm door swings, plumbing, electrical outlets, and cabinet layouts. - Final Walk-Through
Once construction is substantially complete, we'll schedule a final walk-through to identify any touch-ups needed.
5. Move-In!
After the final walk-through, our team will complete any punch-list items and await the final occupancy inspection.
- Punch-List & Final Occupancy
We'll fix any punch-list items and obtain the occupancy permit so you can move in. - Warranty Period
Mountain View Builders warranties your home against defects for 12 months. We'll schedule an appointment to fix any issues at the 11-month mark.
